A METRONext Moving Forward Plan investment
Better Access and Customer Experience
The METRONext Moving Forward Plan provides for improvements to safety and security, accessibility and usability of the METRO system.
- Bus stop enhancements (shelters; accessibility upgrades; real-time arrival information)
- New or improved Park & Ride lots and transit centers
- New METRO curb2curb zones in various communities to increase connectivity
- New circulator routes to increase connectivity
Now in Service
The first circulator route is the Gulfton Circulator (routes 309 and 310). The route begins and ends at Westpark / Lower Uptown Transit Center connecting the Gulfton community to Hillcroft Transit Center. The route pattern was unanimously approved by the Gulfton Super Neighborhood Council. It also satisfies requests from riders on other bus routes.
Addicks Park & Ride
METRO is considering redevelopment of the Addicks Park & Ride (14230 Katy Freeway) into something more than just a hub for great transit service.
Tidwell Transit-Oriented Development Plan
We're developing an action plan to increase mobility and improve connectivity at and around the Tidwell Transit Center through transit-oriented development (TOD).
